Police have uncovered a large amount of drugs after stopping a car at Mayfield West overnight.
Officers searched the vehicle in Vickers Street at about 10.30pm, allegedly finding almost 200 ecstasy tablets, 15 grams of ICE and 8 grams of cannabis, along with an extendable baton and cash.
The driver, a 20-year-old man from Edgeworth, has been granted strict conditional bail and will front Newcastle Local Court later this month on several charges including 3 counts of drug supply.
