The family of Cessnock man Michael Moad have welcomed his killer's 23-year gaol sentence.
Mr Moad was brutally stabbed to death ten times by the jealous ex-husband of his partner two years ago by Gregory Thompson.
Thompson blamed his significant depression for the murder.
The 51-year-old will be eligible for parole in 2032.
