A man has managed to evade capture after a police pursuit at Windale last night.
Patrolling officers noticed a Toyota Hi Lux ute on South Street just after 8.00pm and tried to pull it over for a random breath test but the driver took off.
He jumped out of the car and fled on foot when he reached a dead-end in Munroe Street.
However, he failed to apply the handbrake and the ute rolled back into the front of the police car, causing minor damage.
The officers weren't injured.
