Nords Wharf Cliff Diver Injured In Bridge Dive

BY IAN CROUCH

Nords Wharf cliff diver, Rhiannan Iffland has been injured while competing overseas.

The 25-year-old injured her knee after landing badly from a 21 metre bridge dive at Mostar in Bosnia Herzegovina.

She suffered the injury during practice for the fifth event of the Cliff Diving World Series and had to be loaded onto a stretcher in the water before being lifted into a recovery boat in obvious paim.

The injury has put her title defence in doubt - she did not compete on Saturday night and faces a race against the clock to be fit in time for the final round of the series in Chile next month.

Despite not competing, Iffland still leads the series by 60 points but would be unlikely to win the title if she can't compete in Chile.
