The Hunter's Westpac Rescue Helicopter is headed out to the Carnival Spirit cruise liner east of Port Macquaire.
A 76-year-old female is reportedly suffering a medical condition.
The chopper will rendezvous with the ship and winch the patient off and take her to hospital.
